Johnny hales from the frigid north country of Syracuse, NY. He finished high school in Lake Placid, NY then graduated from University in New England. After college he did a two-year stint between the European Alps and Caribbean Islands as a ski instructor with Club Med, which certainly helped cultivate his language skills as well as improved his ability to adapt to varying cultural environments.

He has always gravitated to the mountains and water, having a great knack for boating. His experience started from a very young age on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, cruising the waters from the inland lakes of the North, up and down the Eastern Seaboard, Mediterranean and the Caribbean seas. Johnny has seen more than most and brings to the table first-hand the well-rounded experience of education, seamanship and people skills. All essential aids in putting buyers and sellers together, in a fair and competent way. He's often been quoted "God gave us two ears and one mouth" which means we should do twice the listening and half the talking on behalf of our clientele.

Johnny shared time with his brother, Pete, at Woods & Oviatt as they opened their doors back in 1974. Johnny branched off and started J. Woods Marine Group in 1989. Now after 40 plus years in the industry, he has come full circle and re-joined brother Pete, along with his two sons here at Woods & Associates Yacht Brokerage firm. Known to be a really fun and entertaining atmosphere to do business, weather buying or selling.

Johnny has three great kids a daughter with a granddaughter and two sons, one still at the University of Colorado ...what a handful! His other interests that keeps him busy are traveling with Laurie, his significant other. Johnny is also an accomplished pilot, loves to fly, go skiing at their home in Colorado, and watching the professional sports teams of South Florida.

Please give Johnny a call. You are assured to be treated professionally and honestly. Whether buying or selling, the client's interests are always first and foremost!
