The Rugged Durability of a Hatteras

Focused engineering, tough materials and proven construction processes come together to produce the legendary strength that is the backbone of the Hatteras story. We thought you might be interested in this video from Boattest.com, which demonstrates the tremendous engineering and craftsmanship in building Hatteras Yachts hulls.

From a solid fiberglass bottom to the final coat of exterior paint, each Hatteras is built to excel in the roughest seas and harshest environments while retaining superior performance and beauty.

Hatteras pioneered the combination of a convex bow shape and variable deadrise bottom in convertible hull design that makes this possible. This proven design is elevated to an art form in the GT Series.  A network of interlocking resin infused composite bulkheads and stringers support the solid fiberglass bottom and serve as the foundation for each GT model. The decks, superstructure, and hull sides above the waterline are cored with high-density Divinycell nonabsorbent foam, creating a stiff, durable and lightweight structure.
