Why List/Sell Your Yacht With Woods?

When deciding which Yacht Brokerage company is best to place your business with, we suggest you pose the following questions. Please take our response under consideration to reach your conclusion.

What type, size and value of vessels does Woods & Associates typically list and sell?

Woods & Associates has remained diversified over the years, choosing not to specialize in any specific or limited market. There is about an equal division between motor yachts & sport fisherman (including express models). With this approach we can provide services to a wide spectrum of the boating community and avoid turning away potential customers. Most recently, since 2010 we have listed and sold vessels ranging from a 26' Regulator center console for $65,000 to a 163' Christensen for $36,000,000. If your current boat fits in this slot - or if you are in market for a vessel somewhere in this range - LET'S TALK.

How long has Woods & Associates been in business?

Certainly experience and longevity are most tangible benefits in any profession. In January of 2013 we celebrated our 40th year in the Yacht Brokerage trade! And in the words of the company's founder, Pete Woods, "we are starting to get the hang of it." The firm was 1st called Woods & Oviatt, originating in Ft Meyers, Florida - then off to Ft Lauderdale in 1980. There was an acquisition in late 1998 by MarineMax, and in 2006 left them to form Woods & Associates Yacht Brokerage & Realty. We have been exposed to countless challenges in structuring and preserving deals and are well equipped to guide you through all marine related endeavors.

Where is Woods & Associates office located?

After 20 years at Pier 66 in Ft Lauderdale, on January of 2013 we re-located to the New River in Down Town Ft Lauderdale. We are just east of the 3rd Avenue bridge on the north side of the river. This is a premiere venue, along the fashionable Riverwalk district, just south of the upscale shops and restaurants on Las Olas Blvd. We have doubled our space and potential for additional brokers. There is reasonable & secure dockage alongside our offices for vessels up to 150 feet. Ft Lauderdale is not only the yachting capitol of North America - it is the BREEDING GROUNDS for transactions. From our new location we are now better equipped for catering to our many friends and clientele.

Does Woods & Associates take trades?

The term "two boat owner" is one seldom subscribed to by potential buyers who would prefer to avoid this scenario. Sellers are reluctant to "inventory" a trade simply to facilitate a transaction. Understandably, all parties want a clean deal. This is where Woods & Associates distinguishes ourselves from the great majority of other brokerage houses & dealers - WE TAKE TRADES! A very high percentage of boat purchases involves current boat owners - repeat customers. By our ability to remove the "trade burden" the deal can be accelerated to everyone's satisfaction. This is a luxury that re-defines the term unencumbered for our customers - allowing them to move into their next vessel of choice much sooner than later.
